    My wonderful Kernow

Cornwall, Kernow, the set of Poldark, the home of smuggling and pasties! I’ve been visiting this beautiful part of the country since I was tiny and I still go back at least once every year! Having just got back from my latest visit I thought I would compile a list of ‘must dos, visits and must eats’ for anyone who is thinking of visiting! The beaches Cornwall’s beaches are mostly unspoilt and it is not entirely uncommon to pretty much have the beach to yourself! I’d always recommend avoiding midday when most will be visiting and opt for a mid afternoon trip instead! Not only then do you get a…

What does summer mean to you?

So I start this blog post without knowing where it’s going to go but let’s go with it shall we? I’m sat here with the sun shining, a warm breeze keeping me from getting too hot with beautiful summer blooms all around me! I’m already planning my glass of gin in the garden tonight to mark the beginning of the weekend and thinking of sunny day activities to do tomorrow! BBQ? country walk? When the sun is like this the possibilities are endless? Why is is it the sun just makes everything better? 😊 My toes are freshly painted thanks to The beauty lounge and I’m keeping my shoulders covered…

    My little slice of heaven

A couple of weeks ago myself and Brad packed our bags and set off for the rolling blackdown hills in Somerset in order to stay at Dimpsey Glamping owned by my lovely friend, Emma. I was incredibly excited for the trip as this Shepherd’s hut, which has been crafted by the most amazing craftsman at Blackdown Shepherd’s Huts was not only new at Dimspey but was also a brace hut, meaning 2 huts put together to create a larger and more spacious hut. I was slightly nervous about staying as anything to do with camping makes me worried (I’m not a happy camper) as I like all the comforts of…

    The skills of craftsmanship

Sorry I’m a bit behind with blogging so expect a few over the next few days! Today, however I wanted to share my thoughts on craftsmanship. Unfortunately we are now from a very much ‘throw away’ culture and often things are not made to last. How many of you have brought things that maybe last a few wears before starting to look tired and used? But it doesn’t matter as it’s cheap so you can justify just getting rid of it at the end of the season? I for one have been guilty of that! However I feel since I’ve started really looking at my wardrobe, I’ve started to want…

    My Christmas thoughts 💭

So this Christmas I was going to do a gift guide but mid blog I had a thought….why do I love these gifts so much? Why am I recommending them? And with that I deleted my blog and saved it for this one…..this one is about people! Throughout 2018 I’ve been really lucky and have met or got to know some wonderful people and it’s them I want to focus my attention on today. My first thought goes to the team at Hiho silver who I discovered and met on September at the style, skills and silver event they organised. I am relatively new to blogging and the country industry…

These are a few of my favourite things

Hi everyone! So with autumn well settled in now I thought I would share some of my favourite essentials for a wearable autumn look! I have been lucky enough to meet and know some amazing designers and that leads me on to my first recommendation! My lovely friend, Kate at Kate Latimer Country has just released her signature and highly anticipated tweed skirt and I have been lucky enough to get my hands on a gorgeous blue tweed one (see below). These are so flattering and literally go with any outfit! I like to wear mine with tights and boots, a shirt and a nice jacket for day to day…

    Hiho silver #styleskillsandsilver

Morning everyone! I thought today I would share my experiences of the Hiho silver #styleskillsand silver meet up I attended on Thursday at the very beautiful Fish Hotel which is nestled in the rolling Cotswold hills, near Broadway. This day had been very carefully planned and organised by a group of wonderful people who are all involved in the country lifestyle/fashion/blogging industry who wanted to help and share their experiences, tips and techniques with likeminded people like myself! I arrived not knowing anyone but was greeted with lots of smiley faces, hot tea and CAKE! So I was instantly relaxed and got chatting to people very quickly. As my blog…

    Fresh lips 💕

I’m a bit obsessed with lip balms…I get separation anxiety if I don’t have one within my reach and I have hundreds of them scattered all over the house, in my handbags, pockets, the car etc. I hate the feeling of matte lipsticks as the trends seem to be at the moment and am getting fed up of the horrible line you get around your lips as lipstick wears off so I went on the hunt for a solution! Glosses wear off too quick, balms over mattes just seem to make the lipstick go bitty 🤷🏻‍♀️ so just short of giving up I stumbled into the Fresh shop on Marleybone…

    My all time favourite bag

For my 30th birthday a few years back my mum said she wanted to buy me a handbag so with that I went on the hunt for the ‘one’ to mark such an occasion! As you would expect the usual came to mind- Burberry, Kate spade, Todd’s etc but none of them them seemed quite unique enough, so I started looking closer to home! I am lucky enough to live smack bang in the middle of the Cotswolds where I am surrounded by talented individuals making beautiful handcrafted items and with a closer search I found Regmeg. Meg has a beautiful workshop in the heart of Burford high street and…

    Tis the season

Does anybody else get excited about season changes?!! Don’t get me wrong, I am 100% a summer baby but there is something exciting about waking up to morning mist on the fields and the beautiful colours of changing leaves, not to mention the clothing options! Country fashion is based around shooting season so naturally the clothes are more autumn based and I am ever so excited to get my boots out and tweed jackets! Summer this year has been amazing and everything you hope for but with that I don’t feel resentful to the cooler weather at the moment, so much so I braved the boots yesterday on my lunch…
